Catering/Cook Manager

We are looking for an experienced Catering/Cook Manager to manage the cafes & hospitality at Edinburgh International Climbing Arena. This is a varied venue with extensive facilities comprising 2 x cafes and various meeting/conference room spaces. The Catering/Cook Manager will be required to manage the unit on a day to day basis, prepare & serve food, staff management, training, ensuring that H&S, food hygiene standards are met. The cafe offer will focus on freshly prepared food.

As the largest independent day attraction & event caterer in Scotland, this is a challenging but rewarding role. We are extremely passionate about food, customer service and standards.

The Catering/Cook Manager will have:
a fantastic presence, leading, managing & motivating the team
strong client relations
obsession with and evidence of outstanding customer service
health & safety, food hygiene focussed
experience in a busy food retail environment

a true passion for fresh food & ingredients , cooking & baking

an ability to co-ordinate many activities at once

heaps of energy & enthusiasm, ability to work under pressure

an excellent eye for detail, flexible and adaptable

fantastic communication skills both orally and written, computer literate

good understanding of how a business operates, been involved in costing, P&L’s, budgets, financially astute

a high standard of personal presentation

a driving licence an advantage

Our logistics department currently has vacancies for driver/porters in the Edinburgh area, working with a modern fleet of vehicles and as part of a team committed to excellence, the position requires personnel with reliability & flexibility to achieve and maintain a high standard of delivery & service.

Working mostly evenings and weekends a good geographical knowledge of Scotland,
particularly of the Lothian’s, Edinburgh and the central belt are required.

Safety clothing and footwear are provided, good rates of pay.
Full clean digital license required.
