Hospitality Services Director
Hopetoun House
A unique opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a Hospitality Services Director working for Heritage Portfolio within “Scotland’s Finest Stately Home” Hopetoun House.
You will be responsible for the overall management and service delivery of the hospitality operation and will be expected to work closely with our client principal to develop a business development strategy encompassing, hospitality, day visitor and public events.
You will have the opportunity to interact with a like minded team across our range of heritage venues including some of Edinburgh’s and Central Scotland’s most prestigious Castles, Palaces, Stately Homes and buildings of distinction.
With meticulous attention to detail, excellent strategic and proven business skills you will manage a small team in this hands on role to build on the successful hospitality operation. This is an influential role which forms part of the senior management team.
Applicants must have:
A track record in a senior hospitality role preferably within the special events sector.
Proven experience of strategic business planning and development
Experience of event planning and management working to a 5 star standard
Excellent communication skills both orally and written
Proven experience of financial management and budgetary controls
Salary £32,000 - £36,000 pa

Full time and part time waiting Staff
We are about to open for the season and looking for waiting staff for the Hopetoun House Tea Room.
We are currently looking to recruit full & part time talented cafe staff for Hopetoun House TeaRoom- you must have had previous experience of working in a cafe/restaurant, preferably with table service.
This is a highly interactive role - applicants must have an excellent command of both written and spoken English
5 shifts per week, which will include week-end work. Hopetoun House is only open from March until the end of September, however, successful applicants will be given the opportunity to transfer to one of our other venues e.g Edinburgh International Climbing Arena, Ratho, National Portrait Gallery, National Galleries of Modern Art hence providing a full time permanent position.
The Hopetoun House Stables Tea Room has a strong emphasis on local and seasonal food, where we prepare everything from scratch. Cafe Supervisor
Are you energetic, enjoy working in a team and enjoy a diverse role?
This is a highly interactive role - applicants must have an excellent command of both written and spoken English - you must have had previous supervisory experience of working in a cafe/restaurant. The role will be full time, 5 shifts per week, which will include week-end work.

The Edinburgh Indoor Climbing Arena cafe is a lively and busy cafe, much loved by its regular visitors to the arena. The emphasis is on fresh, tasty food prepared daily, using local, seasonal where possible. A second, smaller cafe is located, in Scrambles, the EICA soft play centre, where parents and children flock to in search of tasty child friendly food and a place to have fun.
We cater for events within the EICA opening hours, but also occasionally for events in the evening. Therefore you must be able to liaise and communicate well within the team and assist the management to ensure that events are well organised and the food offer is delivered as planned.
The arena has many exciting events, whether they be sporting events from climbing competitions and Judo competitions or large conferences and team building meetings within some of the buildings fantastic conference rooms.

Venue General Manager
Musselburgh Racecourse
A unique opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a Venue General Manager working for Heritage Portfolio at one of our key venues; Musselburgh Racecourse.
Musselburgh Racecourse is a 5 Star Visitor Attraction who are ambitious and think holistically about the visitor experience which includes the hospitality offer as part of the overall guest experience.
You will be responsible for the overall management at a strategic, commercial and service delivery level, with regards to the hospitality operation and will be expected to work closely with our client principal to develop a business development strategy encompassing, corporate hospitality, public bars which will be operated by Heritage Portfolio and a mobile catering offer which will be operated by a number of sub contracted concessions partners.
This is a unique position within Heritage Portfolio as you will not only be managing our own hospitality teams at the racecourse but also a number of sub-contracted concessions which will make up the overall offer.
You will have the opportunity to interact with a like-minded team across our range of heritage venues including some of Edinburgh’s and Central Scotland’s most prestigious Castles, Palaces, Stately Homes and buildings of distinction.
This position will require meticulous attention to detail, excellent strategic and proven business skills, as well as the ability to carry out detailed planning and co-ordinate a number of sub-contractors. You will need to manage a small team during the planning stages and scale up to overseeing and managing a larger team on the race-days themselves. This is an influential role which forms part of our senior management team.
