Caterer tastes awards glory

EDINBURGH-BASED virtual caterer Beetroot Blue has followed its Scottish e-business award win last week by scooping the top UK prize.

The company was awarded the title of best e-business by Energy and E-Commerce Minister Mike O’Brien at the UK E-Commerce Awards in London last night. The business also picked up a cheque for £8000.

Beetroot Blue provides outside catering for events and functions with ordering and payment all done online.

Chief executive Alan Duff said: "We’re absolutely delighted to get this type of national recognition for what we believe is a fantastic service.

"We’re hoping this type of exposure will spread the word about what we can offer, allowing us to expand the business even further."
