
Food Firm Tastes Success
EDINBURGH virtual caterer Beetroot Blue has won the regional final of the UK E-Commerce Awards.
The company provides outside catering for events and functions with ordering and payment all done online, making it easy for customers while keeping costs down.
It was presented with the Winner@Web Award 2004 for having made the "most effective use of the internet". There were more than 400 entries to the competition.
As well as being crowned overall W@W champion, Beetroot Blue also won the Best E-Business category. It was awarded £3000 and now has the chance to compete in the UK final for a top prize of £40,000.
Five other category winners were also announced at the ceremony in Glasgow, each winning £2000.
Best E-Business Start-up went to Advanced Messaging,
Buildstore took the Best E-trading award, Fife-based website development agency Scothosts won the prize for the Best use of Broadband
and the Best Use of Teleworking Award went to Glasgow’s CCA.
