Formerly known as Café Newton, Cafe Modern Two is one of Edinburgh’s best kept secrets where the emphasis is on fresh simple food prepared to order and served to your table.
The interior was created by architect Terry Farrell at the time of his stunning conversion of the Dean Gallery itself and is designed to be a modern take on the coffee houses of Vienna.
Our daily changing “special” will usually have a Mediterranean influence and there will also be soup, an antipasti platter as well as a selection of breads with a variety of mouth watering toppings on offer. Don’t leave without trying our wonderfully moist lemon and polenta cake or our heavenly Belgian chocolate brownie.
As a Green Tourism Business Scheme Silver Award holder, Cafe Modern Two is committed to environmental protection and sustainability. Café Modern Two strives to minimize operational impacts on the environment through resource conservation and environmentally sound practices.
