Queen Street Cafe

The Queen Street Café at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery is the proud winner of the Herald’s “Best Scone in Scotland” award and its loyal band of regulars are often to be found queuing at opening time as those famous scones are taken from the oven.  Set within the magnificent span of the building’s enormous arched windows, the café is an oasis of calm only a stone’s throw from the city’s smartest shopping areas.

Unpretentious, tasty and stylish food is all prepared on the premises by our talented team using the best of ingredients.  The daily changing selection of soups, hot dishes, imaginative salads and filled croissants on offer at lunch time includes dishes which reflect the latest food trends as well as many old favourites.  Our renowned home baking makes the perfect indulgence with a hot drink after a tiring day’s shopping.

As a Green Tourism Business Scheme member, the Queen Street Cafe is committed to environmental protection and sustainability. The Queen Street Cafe strives to minimize operational impacts on the environment through resource conservation and environmentally sound practices.
