2001 GIGONDAS, “Le Grand Montmirail”, Domaine Brusset, France

2001 CHATEAUNEUF DU PAPE, “Les Combes D’Arnevels”, France
Classic, medium bodied Chateauneuf with a richly textured palate of spicy violet and cherry fruit overlaid with a little subtle oak ageing.
2002 SHIRAZ GRENACHE, Brave Faces, Two Hands, Australia
Back in the 1980's, when Australian Chardonnay was all the rage, many vineyard owners were encouraged to "grub up" their old Shiraz and Grenache vines in favour of white grapes. Some old timers held out resolutely and Braves Faces is a tribute to them. Hugely concentrated but with a luscious, strawberries and cream palate, this is an immensely enjoyable style.
