M&I Forums Gala Dinner at the National Museum of Scotland

This week we were delighted to host the Gala Dinner for the Summer 2015 M&I Forum in Edinburgh. We were extremely proud to host this prestigious event for the first time in Edinburgh – one of the most beautiful cities in the world. And how appropriate that the National Museum of Scotland with its rich heritage and treasures from around the world was the chosen venue!

The Gala Dinner began with a drinks and canapés reception in the atmospheric Entrance Hall after which guests were escorted to their seats by a traditional Scottish piper.

For dinner, the scene was set with lovely cream and gold linens, tall floral arrangements, beautifully dressed tables and fantastic lighting.  The stunning four course menu for the evening began with a duo of Inverawe smoked salmon and cured trout with pickles and leaves followed by a pallet cleansing Pickering’s Gin and tonic sorbet. The main course featured roasted guinea fowl with garlic and Scottish chorizo stuffing, spiced red cabbage, string beans and buttery fondant potato and finished with a sumptuous lemon, white chocolate and ginger cheesecake served with a sweetly spiced saffron syrup and rosy beetroot meringues.  All matched with delicious wines of course and a dram of carefully selected whisky.

The evening’s excellent entertainment featured a Scottish Fiddler, highland dancers and a Scottish ceilidh. And we’re thrilled to report guest were dancing until wee hours.

We’ve worked on this event with VisitScotland and many of our brilliant Scottish suppliers - Alliance Wine, Cairns & Scott, Pickering's Gin, The Scotch Malt Whisky Society, Finix Productions, Florists Edinburgh - Roseparks, Reel Time Events & The Reel Time Ceilidh Band who worked tirelessly to help make the M&I Forums Gala Dinner as memorable as Edinburgh itself.

Scotland has a tradition of fine hospitality and we hope that M&I Forums delegates found their experience in the Scottish capital to be warm, stylish and inspiring.
