The National Museum of Scotland offer a stunning collection of museums for a wide range of events, from spectacular awards dinners for 850 to small private meetings for 12, each and every one ensures a unique and unforgettable experience.

Grand Gallery

The Museum with all its splendour of elegant pillars, staircases and fine Victorain architecture is a spectacular backdrop for many an event. The recent £46m refurbishment features the Grand Gallery with a capacity for 1500 for a drinks reception or 850 for formal dining. This area of the museum re-opens to the public on 29th July 2011 and for events from 1 September 2011.

Hawthornden Court and Kingdom of the Scots

Hawthornden Court offers a surrounding of modern day majesty and theatrical backdrop for drinks receptions and dinner. The adjacent Kingdom of the Scots Gallery offers additional reception space enabling the two spaces to jointly accommodate up to 700 guests for a drinks reception.

Early People Gallery

The Early People Gallery, directly below Hawthornden Court, offers an inspirational space for smaller receptions and more intimate dining for up to 120 guests. At the rear of the Early People Gallery is the Dunfermline Room Lecture Theatre which offers a modern venue ideal for smaller presentations and meetings or seminars for up to 40 guests

Connect Gallery

The Connect Gallery is full of exciting objects and interactives, ideal for receptions and informal gathering for up to 180 guests.

Board & Bute Rooms with Roof Terrace

Originally designed to replicate the ancient Scottish broch, the tower at the National Museum of Scotland houses a suite of Boardrooms combining traditional Scots architecture with twenty-first century luxury, offering a totally unique perspective for daytime and evening events as well as wedding ceremonies and receptions.

The Bute Room is a stunning circular room with a beautiful tapestry carpet, which adds colour and depth to the dramatic and imposing setting.

The Boardroom is one of the most sought after venues in Edinburgh with arguably the best view of Edinburgh Castle in the city. With a stunning circular burr maple wood table, comfortable sofas and cushions, guest can relax with a coffee or liqueur after dinner while admiring the beauty of the Edinburgh skyline.

These amazing rooms have a further well-kept secret; a private roof terrace for pre dinner drinks and canapés while enjoying a panoramic view of Edinburgh’s historic old town.
