Social Media + Digital Executive

LOCATION: Edinburgh | SALARY: £19,000pa | TYPE: Full time

Job Summary:

Working within the Heritage Portfolio marketing team is not for the fainthearted.  It’s dynamic, fast-paced and fun.  We’re looking for a team member who has a passion for all things digital – social media, websites and the strategy that sits behind it.  You’ll be working on our Heritage Portfolio and Centerplate accounts where no two days are the same - from promoting world leading visitor attractions and stadiums to working on Royal events there is a great deal of variety and a chance to make some lifelong memories.

Key Objectives

• To develop and follow the Company’s Social Media strategy
• To take the lead on all digital promotions and collateral
• To maintain Company Websites

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work with the marketing manager to create campaign strategy for each relevant venue and events
• Source, compile and deliver day-to-day communications to consumers through digital channels including, Facebook, Twitter and instagram
• SEO through web content writing, management and traffic generation
• Creating compelling content for blogs
• Online advertising including Google PPC
• Updating all websites in the Heritage Portfolio and Centerplate portfolio
• Managing online voucher sales, queries and redemptions
• Analysing all websites and digital campaign activity, reporting to the marketing team and making suggestions for the future and for improvement
• Work with Marketing Managers of Heritage Portfolio and Centerplate UK to ensure all referral website memberships are up to date and filter all requests
• Support Head of Marketing on ad-hoc projects

Key Attributes: 

• This is a demanding role, but one that is very rewarding.  It is imperative that time management and effective working ethics are utilised at all times
• At least 2 years’ experience in marketing, whether it is through studying or working.  Experience of hospitality sector an advantage but not essential
• Have excellent written and verbal English skills
• Excellent copywriting skills
• Be organised, have the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadline
• Good understanding of technology such as MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Illustrator, CMS Systems for example
• Experience with Email Marketing programmes
• Experience with SEO and online Analytics (Google Analytics, Trends, Webmaster Tools, Website Optimizer, Keyword Tool, URL Builder)
• Experience and knowledge/understanding of the use of social media and new lines of communication with Web 2.0 and Social Networks (Blog, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Facebook, YouTube) and previous experience of hosting websites and blogging would be desirable
• Have an upbeat and positive attitude
• A good food knowledge would be a distinct advantage
