Event Designer – Hopetoun House

We are Heritage Portfolio Limited, a specialist caterer working for discerning clients in buildings of distinction with the aim of helping our clients to create an experience beyond food. Established in 2002 our client list includes many of Edinburgh and Scotland’s finest venues and we provide great parties and special events, as well as running fantastic cafes within leading visitor attractions.
We are now seeking an Events Professional to join our team.
You will be responsible for the event design and planning function as a member of the Heritage Portfolio team based at Hopetoun House. On a daily basis you will be creating appropriate proposals in response to initial enquiries, following up all enquiries in a timely manner and working closely with out venue principles in order to help them convert the business. This is a role with dual responsibility for both Event Planning and Operations and you will be expected to deputise for the Food and Beverage Manager and operate events where appropriate.
Together with your Food and Beverage Manager you will be tasked with working in partnership with your venue clients, developing the events business in order to achieve the annual budget.
You will also work closely with our Director of Sales and the wider events team in order to nurture existing relationships and identify new opportunities. You will increase the awareness of the company and associated venues through networking, site visits and promotional activity.
You will be expected to assist with site visits, ensuring that Hopetoun House is always showcased in the best possible light in order to secure business. You will be expected to take a pro-active approach to finding new business by working closely with the wider Sales and Events Team.
You will have the opportunity to interact with a like-minded team across our range of heritage venues including some of Edinburgh’s and Central Scotland’s most prestigious Castles, Palaces, Stately Homes and buildings of distinction.
Applicants must have:
- A track record in the hospitality industry, preferably in the luxury market
- Operational experience
- Excellent communication skills both orally and written
- Proven experience of relationship development
- Confidence to work with a wide range of clients
