Event Sales Manager

LOCATION: V&A Dundee | SALARY: Salary subject to experience from £24k - £30k | TYPE: Full-time

We are looking for an Event Sales Manager who is passionate about sales, events, budgets, the food we serve and being an energised team player in equal measure.

On a daily basis you will:

  • conduct site inspections,
  • create appropriate proposals in response to initial enquiries
  • follow up all enquiries in a timely manner
  • convert enquiries into confirmed events
  • issue contracts
  • plan the event

You will also work closely with your General Manager and the Heritage Portfolio Event Sales team in order to nurture existing relationships and identify new opportunities.  You will increase the awareness of both V&A Dundee as a venue, and work alongside the company and associated venues through networking, site visits and promotional activity.

You will be responsible for organising show rounds for our clients at V&A Dundee, ensuring that the venue is showcased in the best possible light in order to secure business.  You will also be charged with identifying new leads and opportunities in order to expand and grow the business.  You must take a pro-active approach to finding new business by working closely with the wider Sales and Events Team, and with the identified V&A Dundee client’s team.

You will very much be a member of the extended Heritage Portfolio team and will have the opportunity to interact with a like-minded team across our range of heritage venues including some of Edinburgh’s and Central Scotland’s most prestigious Castles, Palaces, Stately Homes and buildings of distinction.

Applicants must have:

  • A track record in the hospitality industry, preferably in the luxury market
  • Proven experience of converting business
  • Excellent communication skills both orally and written
  • Proven experience of relationship development
  • Confidence to work with a wide range of clients
  • A passion for food and events
