We are thrilled to be looking for a General Manager to join us in working on the opening of the this new museum. This is a unique opportunity to become involved in a stunning new, highly sought after multi-faceted restaurant, café and event space housed within the V&A Dundee.
This role will be perfect for someone who is an all-rounder and loves to get involved in all aspects of hospitality. It is essential that you enjoy running busy venues whilst also having a love and passion for great food, meeting budgets and upholding the highest standards. It is imperative that you will fit in with the wider Heritage Portfolio family and that you will able to create the events that we are known for, in Dundee.
Working alongside the company Deputy Director of Retail and the sales team the ideal candidate will ensure that we deliver a continually fresh offer both in the café and restaurant, provide unparalleled and iconic events and, of course, ensure great service throughout. Candidates must be able to demonstrate that they have a high level of financial acumen and be able to interrogate complex financial data and report data as required.
With the ability to develop robust relationships with the clients coupled with the desire to listen and understand the needs of our clients you will be able to adapt our service offering appropriately without compromise. Within the café and restaurant we operate a ‘Made from Scratch’ mantra, so we require you to focus on sustainability, seasonality and provenance throughout the product range.

- Must love the industry and be passionate about GREAT food!
- Have previously managed a high volume venue at a General Management level
- Must be currently working in a venue where quality is a focus
- Have dynamic relationship skills
- Have strong knowledge of cost control, P&L management and sales building
