Café Modern One

Haven’t been to one of our cafes yet? We’ve got four great cafes across Edinburgh which make the perfect place to stop and refuel when out on a cultural adventure. If you’re in the city centre, why not visit Café Portrait within the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, just round the corner from Harvey Nichols.
Or you could make a day trip of visiting the Scottish National Galleries of Modern Art. Start at Modern One and pop into Café Modern One for a morning coffee and a scone, then stroll across the road and soak up the art in Modern Two before heading to Café Modern Two for lunch, or afternoon tea.
If you’re looking for some culture a little further afield, we can highly recommend a trip to Hopetoun House in South Queensferry, just a short drive from the city. With magnificent grounds and a stunning stately home to explore, you’ll definitely benefit from refuelling in the Stables Tearoom.
