The Royal College of Surgeons is a unique venue located just 10 minutes from Edinburgh Castle and Princes Street. There are five distinct venues within Surgeons’ Hall: The Playfair Building is the flagship building which dates back to 1832, with a variety of magnificent rooms. Dine in the grandeur of the impressive Main Hall amongst portraits of some of the greatest surgeons of the past.  Both the Playfair Main Hall and Fellows Library are licensed for civil wedding ceremonies.

In contrast, The Quincentenary Building was completed in 2006 – a modern and versatile building which boasts a purpose built conference space and three large break-out rooms. This flexible venue is ideal for both business and celebratory events. The multi-purpose main hall has a sprung dance floor, perfect for ceilidhs and wedding receptions.

The King Khalid Symposium Hall is a wonderful converted church containing a 158 seated tiered auditorium and breakout areas, excellent for continuing the debate or enjoying exceptional Heritage Portfolio catering. It also contains a small dance floor, making it a lovely choice for a small private party.

The Prince Philip Building is the latest addition to the portfolio.  Transformed from the former Edinburgh University Language School into three floors of events space, for hosting everything from social events such as birthday parties and weddings to medical conferences and gala dinners.

Inside there are three floors  - the ground floor has three break-outs rooms which can be opened up into one large space, and a cloakroom, a stunning Main Hall with a glass ceiling retaining many of the original features on the first floor and further meeting room or exhibition space in the basement.

Surgeons Hall also owns a four-star hotel right next door. Ten Hill Place Hotel provides 77 stylish rooms, four of which are skyline rooms with spectacular views of Arthurs Seat and the Firth of Forth.

Working in partnership with Festival Theatre Edinburgh and Heritage Portfolio, the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh can now offer a Conference for up to 1,000 delegates – not easily matched by any other venue in the city.
