Top afternoon tea awards for Colonnades at the Signet Library

The Scottish Food Awards and Academy dinner took place at The Principal Edinburgh George Street on Sunday 7th May 2017.  These inaugural awards brought the top restaurants, named chefs and specialist producers together for a night of recognising the best in the business.

After a rigorous nomination process which included a mystery shopper, Colonnades at the Signet Library was delighted to be awarded ‘Scotland’s Afternoon Tea destination of the year 2017’ and was also presented with a gold level recognition as ‘Highly Recommended Afternoon Tea 2017’.

Colonnades’ Maitre’D, Glenn D’Costa, and Head Chef, Craig Hutchinson, were in attendance at the award night, rubbing shoulders with Scotland’s best chefs and purveyors of the finest foods.  Known as ‘Edinburgh’s finest afternoon tea’ it is great to add this award to the collection for Colonnades as further proof that the creative culinary team and exemplary service team really are a cut above the rest.

Heritage Portfolio are the catering team behind Colonnades and are very proud of the high level of lunches and afternoon teas created.  The menus change with the seasonality of the locally sourced produce and the kitchen team take as much care with the presentation of each dish as they do with the taste.  It really is a sight (and a taste) to behold!
