Founded as a monastery in 1128, the Palace of Holyroodhouse is The King's official residence in Scotland. Situated at the end of the Royal Mile, it's inextricably linked with Scottish history. Mary, Queen of Scots lived here between 1561 and 1567, while successive kings and queens have made the Palace the premier royal residence in Scotland. Today it's the imposing setting for State ceremonies and official entertaining.
The Palace of Holyroodhouse is only available for official events organised through the Royal Household. It cannot be booked generally as a public venue.
