NEEPS OR SWEDES, HERITAGE PORTFOLIO GOES BILINGUAL

We’re delighted to announce that we’re heading south of the border.

No, we’re not ‘invading’, it’s more of a ‘let’s take our expertise and creativity further afield’.  We’re ready to show the rest of the UK what Scotland has been enjoying for years.

It has always been the vision of our Executive Director, Mark Miller, to expand the company and take on venues in England and in 2016 this dream has become a reality. We’ll be translating some of our menus from Scots to English and scouring the lands for high quality and fresh produce local to our new venues.  It’s out with the whisky cranachan and in with the Eton mess.  Don’t worry though, we’re creating new teams in all of our venues so accents shouldnae be an issue…

We have two exciting venue wins in England; world record-breaking British Airways i360 from the creators of the London Eye which opens on Brighton beach this summer and the beautiful, historic Arley Hall & Gardens in Cheshire.

These two venues are both unique, both spectacular and both completely different.  The British Airways i360 is a tipped to be one of the leading visitor attractions in the UK where we will cater for the brasserie, event spaces, cafes and tea rooms.  Arley Hall & Gardens is a family home where we will manage event bookings and design for weddings, private and corporate events.  The spectacular gardens on the estate make it very popular for visitors and our new café ‘The Gardener’s Kitchen’ will be opening soon.  These venues are the perfect addition to our current portfolio which includes Mansfield Traquair, The Signet Library, Musselburgh Racecourse and The Royal College of Surgeons.

Our team has never been more enthused and motivated for the future.  In 2014, we were delighted when the American caterer Centerplate approached us with an acquisition proposal which resulted in us joining their family.  This union has given us increased capacity to concentrate on what we are passionate about which is food and given us more opportunities to spread our wings.  Food creation… food taste… food design… it’s in our blood.  We pride ourselves on being the trendsetters and thinking outside the box.  From smoking starters to interactive mains to noisy desserts, we’ve tried it all.  Brian Canale, our Executive Development Chef, has cultivated his team with the ethos of ‘honest cooking’ and he encourages his team to be brave and innovative in their cooking.  Pioneering in his vision for our menus, he creates exciting dishes that use the latest techniques and interesting ingredients with the goal of ensuring that a Heritage Portfolio dining experience is one that is never forgotten.
