In July, Heritage Portfolio was thrilled to curate an intimate and unforgettable evening at Edinburgh’s renowned Signet Library.
Known for its historic grandeur and architectural elegance, The Signet Library provided the perfect setting for a truly bespoke dining experience that celebrated the art of fine cuisine and the beauty of refined decor. Every element of the event, from the interactive canapés to the exquisitely presented dinner, was crafted to engage and delight.
The evening began in style with an interactive ‘build-your-own canapés’ masterclass led by Executive Chef Paul Hood. Guests were invited to craft their own bite-sized masterpieces, including an inventive zero-waste Mull cheddar canapé made from cheddar rinds—a testament to our commitment to sustainable culinary practices.
Other delectable creations included steak tartare with truffle emulsion and crispy croustade, BBQ octopus paired with grape relish and caviar, and French onion gel with crispy spring onions. This hands-on experience not only highlighted the creativity of our culinary team but also allowed guests to connect with the artistry behind each dish.
After the masterclass, guests moved to the Upper Library, where the table was set for an exquisite three-course dinner. The Upper Library, with its stately beauty, offered an elegant atmosphere, elevated further by the stunning floral displays created by our trusted partner, Planet Flowers. Styled with Grecian-inspired vessels and summer fruits, the tablescape perfectly complemented the evening’s elegant theme.
The dinner menu featured a harmonious blend of flavours, starting with sesame-glazed duck breast, followed by halibut with champagne butter sauce, and concluding with a decadent mascarpone parfait served with poached bramble and blackberry sorbet. Each dish was paired with wines selected by our Wine Ambassador, Frans, ensuring that every sip enhanced the culinary journey.
From the refined decor to the unforgettable menu, every detail was meticulously planned to create an evening that was as inspiring as it was indulgent. The event epitomised Heritage Portfolio’s dedication to crafting unique experiences that go beyond food, blending sophistication, artistry, and exceptional service in an unforgettable setting.
