Unforgettably romantic New Year winter wedding at the Signet Library

Ever since Harriet & Adam decided to tie a knot, their hearts were set on a winter wedding. The timelessly elegant surroundings of the Signet Library were exactly what they were looking for – a stunning architectural choice set amid the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town. As Harriet and Adam were traveling from Dundee they chose to stay over in the nearby Fraser Suites which offered them the perfect base for their special day.

“Thank you. …to you, Ian and the team for a fantastic wedding day, it ran like clockwork despite the last minute hiccups and we loved every minute.”

– Harriet

With a wintery silver and blue colour theme for the wedding ceremony in the Lower Library the couple were married in a civil ceremony. They took full advantage of the dramatic Signet staircase for their group photos before enjoying a canapé reception in the Lower Library with an array of moreish bites from wild rabbit Cheddar rarebit to a peppered blue lamb with essence of fresh mint and pea.

Upstairs the Library was a study of classic elegance and sophistication with elegant cream and gold table linens and gold and green chairs, all enhanced by soft golden lighting for the wedding dinner. In the evening, the Upper Library was dramatically transformed with magenta and salmon pink lighting, ensuring an upbeat vibe rolled out for the evening reception and guests. The ever fantastic Callanish provided great ceilidh music while guests kicked up their heels and danced into the wee hours!
