Café Modern One offers an inspiringly light, bright contemporary space - perfect for taking time out during a tour of the gallery's artworks. 

It's one of the prettiest spots in the city for lunch, snacks and drinks, with tables spilling out onto a stone terrace in the beautiful walled garden to the rear of the gallery (NB: terrace open in spring/summer). 

There's something for everyone on our seasonal menu that features deli filled sandwiches, zingy salads and hearty soups alongside ever-changing hot daily specials. Everything's prepared on the premises, including a wide selection of artisanal baked treats and showstopper cakes.
